The COLDFIRE heat shield is SPEARPOINT’s response to the growing demand for effective protection against burns during intense firearms training with suppressors. Suppressors heat up to extreme temperatures, posing a real hazard, which is why advanced insulating materials are used to significantly enhance user comfort and safety.

Advanced Protection & Design

COLDFIRE is a soft, flexible wrap-around cover that effectively insulates a hot suppressor, eliminating the risk of skin contact. Instead of metal buckles that could retain heat and increase the risk of burns, it features a high-temperature-resistant cord that securely holds the cover in place without compromising functionality.

Premium Materials & Thermal Efficiency

The COLDFIRE shield is made from high-performance insulation materials used in the aerospace and military industries:
✔ Kevlar – heat- and abrasion-resistant, ensuring mechanical durability.
✔ Inconel – a high-temperature-resistant metal alloy.
✔ Nomex – a lightweight, flame-resistant material with very low thermal conductivity.
✔ Specialized polymer insulators – reducing heat transfer to the outer layer.

Its construction allows the insulation level to be adjusted to suppressor conditions. Even during intense shooting sessions, the cover’s surface remains significantly cooler than the suppressor itself, improving safety.

Extreme Heat Resistance

The main insulating material degrades at approximately 1000°C, but its low thermal conductivity effectively limits heat transfer to the outer layer.
